About Us

Tobi Cloud is a fast-growing SaaS company building software that makes a difference in people’s lives. Our platform helps NEMT and other fleet operators manage scheduling, dispatching, routing, billing, and daily operations. Our customers rely on our software to run mission-critical workflows every day.

We are building a product culture grounded in customer empathy, clear thinking, fast learning, and measurable outcomes. We want designers who stay close to users, bring strong visual craft, and move quickly from ambiguous problems to clear, usable solutions.

About the Role

We are looking for a Fractional Product Designer to help shape the end-to-end experience of Tobi. You will work closely with product, engineering, and customer-facing teams to design thoughtful, usable, and visually polished product experiences.

This is a hands-on role for a designer with strong visual taste, comfort with ambiguity, and excitement about building and improving the first version of things. You will help translate loose ideas, customer feedback, and operational realities into structured workflows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity interfaces.

What You’ll Do

  • Own end-to-end visual design projects, from early concepts and user flows through polished, launch-ready execution
  • Translate customer needs and product direction into clear design decisions: wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI for web, mobile, and product interfaces
  • Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and customer experience teams to define interaction patterns and product direction
  • Conduct user research, interviews, and usability tests to build a deeper understanding of how operators and dispatchers use our platform
  • Synthesize feedback and data into design decisions and product improvements that move the needle on adoption and satisfaction
  • Contribute to and help maintain Tobi’s design system, including components, visual standards, interaction patterns, and documentation
  • Support visual design and polish for early product experiences as new features are built and iterated
  • Balance creative exploration with practical execution in a fast-moving, distributed environment
  • Experiment with AI and emerging design tools to improve ideation speed and production quality

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of professional product design experience, with the ability to independently own projects from concept to launch
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating visual design quality, thoughtful UX, and end-to-end product thinking across web, mobile, and product interfaces
  • Strong foundation in typography, layout, color, and composition with high attention to craft and detail
  • Proficiency with Figma and modern design tooling
  • Experience contributing to or maintaining a design system
  • Comfort working across multiple projects simultaneously and context-switching in a fast-moving environment
  • Strong written communication and ability to work effectively with distributed and international teams
  • Startup or early-stage product experience: you know how to move fast, make decisions with incomplete information, and adapt as things change
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and designing inclusive product experiences
  • East Coast hours preferred, with willingness to overlap with an offshore engineering team based in India

Nice to Have

  • Experience designing for operations, logistics, dispatch, or workflow-heavy products
  • Experience with AI-assisted design tools or incorporating generative AI into your workflow
  • Background in user research or usability testing in a B2B context
  • Experience designing data-rich interfaces or operational dashboards

How We Work

At Tobi Cloud, strong designers:

  • Lead with customer empathy: understand how operators actually work before jumping to solutions
  • Move fast and show work early: share rough ideas before they’re polished, get feedback, iterate
  • Maintain a high bar for craft: quality and attention to detail matter, especially in a product our customers use every day
  • Communicate clearly in writing: alignment happens through strong written communication, not just meetings
  • Focus on outcomes over output: the goal is real improvement in how customers experience the product

What Success Looks Like

In this role, success means shipping design work that makes our product visibly better for the operators and dispatchers who depend on it every day. It means building design consistency across the product, helping the team make faster and better decisions, and earning trust as the design voice on the team.
